The Cheese Artisans has been in the wholesale business since its inception in 2012. Founded by a group of cheese enthusiasts, the aim is to bring and introduce quality artisanal cheeses to Singapore. Today, we are the preferred cheese supplier to eminent hotels and top restaurants, and we showcase our high quality products at gourmet exhibitions and high profile consumer events.
Our sales team is here to support the needs of our wholesale customers, offering them a wide variety of artisanal cheeses from Europe with as many as 80-100 varieties for them to choose from. With Singapore first maturing rooms, we ensures that we provide our customers with the best quality cheeses.
We work with a strong network of suppliers, but we also recognize the value and importance of our Producers. The Cheese Artisans regularly visit different farms across Europe to explore new cheese varieties and meet their cheesemakers. Spending time with them helps us to understand their cheese making techniques and learn about the unique characteristics of each cheese. This also enables us to identify the right producer and their cheese to fit our selection criteria and the local market.
Many of our Producers have won multiple awards for their products, including those at the prestigious International Cheese Awards as well as local awards in their home countries. Many of the cheeses that we source are produced following strict criteria, earning them DOP, PDO, AOC or AOP status. All of this is achieved through their hard work and passion.
TRAINING & SUPPORT
We believe in the importance of knowledge and having a strong familiarity with the product. Understanding the history of each cheese and its unique characteristics plays an important part in being able to communicate its value to end consumers, thereby, enhancing their experience.
We are also able to provide training to chefs, service staffs and managers on many topics including:
CARING : Cutting, storing and handling cheese
PRESENTATION & SERVING : Creating the perfect board and plating
PAIRING : Learning about complimentary pairings such as fruits, crackers, condiments, wines and beers
COMMUNICATING : Learning the art of talking about different cheese types and their taste profiles to show a deeper understanding with consumers
